my head is still full of waiting, o internets; until it empties and fills again with news, have a reading meme.
Look at the list of books below. Bold the ones you’ve read, italicize the ones you want to read, strike the ones you wouldn’t touch with a ten foot pole, put a cross (+) in front of the ones on your book shelf, and asterisk the ones you’ve never heard of.

100 *ulysses (james joyce)
I like the video more than I like the song; always the soft spot for retro sci-fi.
Wait a minute. Mitch Albom is on this list twice? Dude can barely write a sports column. (Well, more than half of sports columnists can only barely write a sports column. But still.)
Re the video: you know, when Mates of State first came out, they just blew my mind. (On the B-side to the first 7"--the name of which escapes me--Kori's organ was just exploding in this triumphant solo. It was pure magic. Unfortunately, the station's copy melted in my car. Stupid vinyl.)
And then their first two albums came out, and it was more of the same, which was good--interesting play between hubby and wife, drums and organ.
And now? It just sounds like they are doing it over and over again. (Admittedly, I am listening on the sly at work, so I am not focusing on it totally.) So it's on piano instead of organ, but the shout-singing is unchanged, as has been the case since the Clinton administration. On its own merits, the song is fine, but it just doesn't impress me a whole bunch.
The video? That seems like it has been done before, too. Meh.
