more than eight months after i first started stripping and twisting wires together, dropping blown glass spheres on the cat, and whispering promises to the hoary gods of pre-war electricity before flipping the bedroom light switch, the bubble chandelier is done. DIY right down to the 12' hand-sewn cord cover. nap time.
Blown away. Messing about with electricity brings crafting to a whole new level. You're a brave woman.
ReplyDeleteFABULOUS.
ReplyDeleteYou will find me over here, lighting incense, and worshipping you.
ReplyDelete12' hand sewn cord? girl, you crazy.
ReplyDeleteThat's a damn fine looking fixture.
ReplyDeletefantastic.
ReplyDeleteps. joe has a problem with neko case?
you are all especially kind to take notice of it a second time. posting twice on a single craft is all kinds of questionable, but listen, rewiring, sewing that cord cover, and getting the whole thing up to the ceiling took a long-ass time. i have oliver twist hands over here.
ReplyDeleteyeah, jamie, it's weird. neko gets a pass when she's with the new pornographers, as joe really likes ac newman, but if i tried to play, like, blacklisted at home i'd have a revolt on my hands.
pps: does "the tigers have spoken" make you cry, too?
And Kidchamp said, "Let there be light."
ReplyDeleteAnd light, hells yes, there was.
