every year i'm shocked by how expensive cherries are (i think i paid $7.99/lb for the ones i got yesterday, which is just silly - is it that bad everywhere?) and then shocked again by how very justified the expense turns out to be.

i paid $8 for a dozen farm-fresh eggs yesterday.  worth it?  totally.

p.s. you feel old?  who's the national?  and wabes?  i just found out about beach house a couple months ago.  apparently, i never made it past the mid-90s when it comes to music.

wabes is the friend who got me off my arse and to the show, celia; the national are a pleasantly shouty band originally from ohio (now brooklyn-based). amped as they were last night they were very joy division-y, which suits me fine. IMHO, abel is their best song.

you and yours, if i remeber celia, were more hip to the new bands than myself, so there is that. AND THIS is why the botanist is SO RAD. 2.5 for a dozen. what?

and, i am pretty sure my cherries were significantly cheaper. *and* excellent. (but yes, i WOULD pay more)

Need to buy some cherries quickly. With the weather being so temperamental around here, I tend to forget that we're actually in the midst of summer and therefore cherry season days are numbered. And I haven't had any yet!
