back from san francisco and little sis's nuptials; stay tuned for additional reports of kilts and vuvuzelas, of feats of strength and sororal piety. i spied this at the post-wedding get-together at zeitgeist, one of our old haunts down by the spca. i do, sticker, and i will.
i finished the magicians on the plane ride out to california and have been taking notes for ye olde post-halloween book chat (do stop by!). i'm thinking, to quote sis's wedding invite, black tie optional, party pants mandatory.

Gah. I'm still 8 out of 25 on the library wait list - why are people so slow? It appears I will have to suck it up and make an actual purchase.
Also, more wedding info/evidence? Because judging from the invite wording, it must have been epic.
lee, the fellow who brought 140 vuvuzelas (my mother went home with at least four), texted the groom yesterday morning to report that at 3 am, he'd woken up face-down in the children's courtyard at the flood mansion,* having managed to lose his cell phone, keys, cards, jacket, shoes, "and everything that wasn't tied to me." we were pretty impressed.
*the wedding venue.
PARTY PANTS MANDATORY. :D
Now the state is going to charge you with corrupting the youth for your pop-magick opus reading group (and for introducing new divinities- chiefly the god "Steve", for whom you promote a daily adoration). Being clever, you'll likely propose a penalty of being awarded free meals for life in the town hall as a public benefactor. But I warn you, this hasn't worked so good in the past...
Spoiler alert. I have quite enjoyed The Magicians so far, except I keep wanting to mail it off to my 21-year old son.
